Caramel Brown Vest Coat and a Touch of Lepard

I love wool staple pieces. Especially in this crazy weather. Sometimes I can just wear a wool sweater and a light jacket on some winter afternoon s and I feel just right. I decided to take a formal item out of the Shika Chica’s closet today and give it a casual day look feel.

I started off layering with this beautiful camel colored long wool vest from Melanie Lyn. I love the color! Like I mentioned before, I am really trying to redo my wardrobe first starting with the basic staples. I then added my classic Brand Melville cropped ribbed sweater. I wear this top all the time as you can dress it up and down easily.,

For the bottoms, I decided to wear my classic cut off Levis jeans that I adore. I love the snug fit at the waist and the slightly flared bottoms. It helps play down the caramel vest. Now for the shoes, I really wanted something simple, classic and ‘warm’, so I decided to add these Zara leather ankle booties. My motto is wear a heel with an outfit, and it can really give the final touch of classiness that you need to bring the outfit together.

Now we have texture, colour and a sheen we are miss a pattern. What better way to add a pattern then this lepard faux fur hat from my mom’s closet. I love how fun and warm it is. Without the hat, the look would not be completed.

Orange Patterned Cardigan- OOTD

I have had this cardigan for quite some time now though I always seem to come back to this number once the fall comes back around. I bought this cardigan from Forever 21. I love the geometric patterns and the pop of orange that really stands out against the grey.

With such a crazy pattern you want to make the rest of the outfit simple. I added my fur vest to add texture to the outfit. Not only is it fashionable but really warm as well. I then added these mom jeans that I thrift way back as Vien Avec Moi made by Levis. They are so comfortable the cut hem gives it an edgy trendy twist to simple light wash jeans.

For shoes, I played it safe and added my closed toe Call it Spring shoes. I use these pairs of shoes for everything! Work, a special event or a girls night. It really gives enough height to be used for special occasions yet casual enough to wear during the day.

OOTD- A Match of Chess

Chess is one of my favorite games. It requires such concentration, critical thinking and competitiveness.

While playing chess on a Tuesday afternoon, I decided wouldn’t that be great to make a chess inspired ootd and here it is.

Considering that this pattern is coming back in style at the moment, I wanted to make this chess inspired outfit a garden tea party inspired.

I decided to wear a white layered lace fitted skirt from Dynamite. I love the delicate detailing on this skirt really give a garden feel to the outfit. I then added a white chiffon top from Zara to match the skirt. I wanted to make the whole outfit a canvas and add the plaid scalloped detailed blazer from my mom’s closet ( yes she has style haha) so it was the main focus of the outfit. When you put those three items you can’t go wrong.

I then added black classic closed toe shoes from Call it Spring and Jimmy Choo black sunglasses from Point of View Optical from Ottawa.

This masterpiece is classic and simple yet fashionable. You are now ready to beat your opponent in style.

Baby Blue @mypinkmartini Dress and Tom Ford Aviators

IMG_2245

Over the shoulder dresses and tops are everywhere making it a given that I and maybe every chicas will be wearing them all spring and summer long.

I was sent this dress by Pink Martini. Pink Martini is a Canadian clothing brand from Toronto that sells contemporary style clothing. I was told to choose an item from their website to try it out. I decided to choose this amazing waterfall off the shoulder dress. The dress hugs to your body at the bottom and has a flirty flowy feel with the top ruffles and the off the shoulder.

I then decided to pair the dress with these white and gold sandals that I bought from Aldos. I have had these sandals for a year now and they go with everything which I love. For the glasses, I teamed up with a local eyewear company called Point of View Opticians where they had so many great designers such as Jimmy Choo, Tom Ford and much more. I choose these classic Tom Ford Ombre effect Aviators. Tom Ford is probably one of my favorite designers for eyewear. He executes the shape of the eyewear so well allowing them to fit all different face types. These glasses literally slid on like a glove.

Spring OOTD- Sunday Best

Sometimes I will say a Sunday best outfit does make me feel like I am Audrey Hepburn. All I am missing is some tea, scones and some girlfriends to chat with on a lovely Sunday spring morning.

I decided that for this fun look I had to add this tulle skirt from Simons. The gliter skirt screams Spring. I then added this high neck black body suit from Zara along with another vintage piece from my mom’s closet, beige blazer. With the different textures, the chiffon sleeves and the soft silk like cotton for the rest of the bodysuit gives the outfit more dimension while complimenting the girly fun tulle skirt. I then added the cute clutch from Forever 21 to give this outfit a bit of spice. What better way to add spice to an outfit than with the color red.

For the shoes, I kept my staple Just Fab nude heels and added the Call it Spring rose gold sunglasses that plays as a nude in this outfit as the colors are either dark or bright and bold like the red satchel bag.

There you have it! Another great outfit brought to you by this chicas. You can wear this for tea with the girls, night out at a nice Parisian restaurant or to a theater show ( why not be the show as well 😉 ).

Embroidery Take Two- Casual Tuesdays

This top ismy staple for the spring and summer season. I decided to bring this great sheer embroidery top out of the closet but this time casual. I paired these ripped distress straight jeans from Guess with this top. To keep the top tasteful and feasible for the day time, I added this navy blue crop top from Dynamite. The blue color gives a great contrast against the black sheer top. I then added, yes you guessed it, my nude pumps from Just Fab because can you go wrong with nude heels? Now you are ready to walk the runway of life looking fierce and unstoppable.

OOTD- Beige and Pink Go Hand in Hand

It’s important to feel good inside and outside (of course) though sometimes we have those days where we would rather wear out pajamas for the day then waking up and strutting your runway of the day to day tasks in style. This outfit is effortless however stylish.

I started with the pink silk blouse to give the outfit a luxe and polished look. With the top being pink and off the shoulder, you are hitting two trends with one stone for the spring and summer season. I then added a pair of comfortable dress pants. the structure gives an office friendly feel to it while the cotton texture allows you to think that maybe you really didn’t take off those pajamas this morning. Lastly, the bag. I swear when I say accessories can change your whole perspective of what occasion, how much effort you have put in your outfit or how much effort it looks like you put on your outfit. I will be going into more detail as far as how accessories can change your fashion game to a whole new level, but for now, you are ready to hit the office or go on a cute lunch date with your girls or maybe even that cute guy you’ve been talking to for weeks.

Take Embroidery for a Night Out of Town

Embroidery is one of the most iconic and popular trends for Spring 2017. Though remember, it’s not about the trend, it’s about how you style it and make it your own.

This outfit is inspired by a few celebrities that brought this trend to light such as Kylie Jenner, Demi Rose and Iskra Lawrence. You can wear a black body suit and this sheer embroidery dress on top. If you want to change this night look into a day look, you can always add some skinny cut off jeans and statement flats or muhles with a bralette or keep the body suit. Remember it’s all about how you style it and make it your own rather than copying another fashionista’s style. Most importantly, feeling great and confident in what you are wearing.

Spring Office Friendly OOTD- Pinks and Cheetah

Who says you can’t be fashionable and bold without breaking the office attire code? What better way to do that then pairing pink, cheetah, and chinos. I decided to pair this silk fitted high neck blouse with these cotton chinos and a cheetah cross body bag which shows my style and personality. I always recommend every woman should invest in one of two statement bags that you can add to your outfit and really give it a complete finished look.

This Trend Got Me with the “Cold Shoulders”

One of my favorite trends at the moment is the off the shoulder tops. They are a great staple for this spring and summer season. I decided to play with three trends in this look. First, the off shoulder giving feminism touch as well as the pink plaid pattern that is a common look on the runway this year. Plaid is also one of the most transitional patterns when in various seasons from fall to winter to spring. Lastly, the white distress pants give this whole look a relaxed yet clean finish to the full look as white denim is making a big comeback this season. To finished the look add some accessories such as a choker and cute flats or nude pump to give this outfit the “ouff it needs.
