OOTD- Twiks a Little, Dance a Little

With Canada’s 150th around the corner, what better way to celebrate than to style these upcoming couple weeks in Canadian fashion. There are so many talented designers and brands in Canada that do not get as much credit as they should.

This Friday I decided to style this amazing floral peach wrap dress from Simons, a Quebec born and raised retail store that holds a lot of great quality brands (majority of them are from Canada). This wrap dress is designed by one of Simons in-house brands, Twik. Twiks has a lot of casual, fun patterns that are great for summer at the moment. I then added these amazing Ferragamo sunglasses from Point of View Opticians. I then gave this look a nice edgy yet sexy spin adding these strappy black chunky heels from Call it Spring which is currently one of my favorite shoes at the moment. As mentioned before, they are so comfortable and simple. You really can never go wrong with some cute strappy heels in your closet.

OOTD- A Match of Chess

Chess is one of my favorite games. It requires such concentration, critical thinking and competitiveness.

While playing chess on a Tuesday afternoon, I decided wouldn’t that be great to make a chess inspired ootd and here it is.

Considering that this pattern is coming back in style at the moment, I wanted to make this chess inspired outfit a garden tea party inspired.

I decided to wear a white layered lace fitted skirt from Dynamite. I love the delicate detailing on this skirt really give a garden feel to the outfit. I then added a white chiffon top from Zara to match the skirt. I wanted to make the whole outfit a canvas and add the plaid scalloped detailed blazer from my mom’s closet ( yes she has style haha) so it was the main focus of the outfit. When you put those three items you can’t go wrong.

I then added black classic closed toe shoes from Call it Spring and Jimmy Choo black sunglasses from Point of View Optical from Ottawa.

This masterpiece is classic and simple yet fashionable. You are now ready to beat your opponent in style.

Back to the Basics- LBD

Sometimes it’s good just to go back to the basics. An LBD never goes wrong for any occasion. You can wear an LBD for work, a wedding, dinner with the family, out with the girls. Really it just comes down to the style of the dress and the accessories you decide to pair it with

I got this slip lace detailed dress from Marshalls. I love how simple the dress is but the lace detailing gives it a classy, delicate and sexy touch to the overall dress. I then decided to add my black closed toe shoes that I bought from Call it Spring. There is something about an all black look that really keeps the look sleek and classic so when you are looking at your photos ten years from now you can still say  “I can wear that dress again”.

Now the accessories are where the dress really comes to life. The dress is like the crust, sauce, and cheese of the pizza and the accessories are the toppings. For this look, I added the Tom Ford cheetah sunglasses from Point of View Boutique. The pop of color and pattern really brings the whole look together. These glasses are definitely crowd stopper. If you really want to go all out or might be going out at night time when it cooler, add a duster jacket or motor jacket to keep the look classy yet add some color to this all black ensemble. I added my yellow suede motor jacket from Mink (why not? I feel so bad ass with this jacket). There’s something about a motor jacket that makes me feel like I should be on a motorcycle in style.

Spring OOTD- Sunday Best

Sometimes I will say a Sunday best outfit does make me feel like I am Audrey Hepburn. All I am missing is some tea, scones and some girlfriends to chat with on a lovely Sunday spring morning.

I decided that for this fun look I had to add this tulle skirt from Simons. The gliter skirt screams Spring. I then added this high neck black body suit from Zara along with another vintage piece from my mom’s closet, beige blazer. With the different textures, the chiffon sleeves and the soft silk like cotton for the rest of the bodysuit gives the outfit more dimension while complimenting the girly fun tulle skirt. I then added the cute clutch from Forever 21 to give this outfit a bit of spice. What better way to add spice to an outfit than with the color red.

For the shoes, I kept my staple Just Fab nude heels and added the Call it Spring rose gold sunglasses that plays as a nude in this outfit as the colors are either dark or bright and bold like the red satchel bag.

There you have it! Another great outfit brought to you by this chicas. You can wear this for tea with the girls, night out at a nice Parisian restaurant or to a theater show ( why not be the show as well 😉 ).

Embroidery Take Two- Casual Tuesdays

This top ismy staple for the spring and summer season. I decided to bring this great sheer embroidery top out of the closet but this time casual. I paired these ripped distress straight jeans from Guess with this top. To keep the top tasteful and feasible for the day time, I added this navy blue crop top from Dynamite. The blue color gives a great contrast against the black sheer top. I then added, yes you guessed it, my nude pumps from Just Fab because can you go wrong with nude heels? Now you are ready to walk the runway of life looking fierce and unstoppable.

Spring 2017 OOTD- Seaside Blue Stripe Romper

I most definitely feel like a sailor with this outfit ( a fashionable one may I add). Stripes are definitely coming back in a sailor inspired feel as well as the office pin strip look. I decided to wear this simple stripe romper. The white tackle on the waist really accentuates my waist and the gold detailing on the end of the tackle is a great finishing touch. I then continued the metallic look by adding these Just Fab silver loafers. Lastly, you can never go wrong with a Kate Spade bag which compliments the silver shoes.

Great way to approach stripes especially during the festival season is by adding a seaside inspired strip in a dress or romper form. Very stylish and it will literally take you two seconds to decide at least half of your outfit.

Spring Trend 2017- Floral and Lace

I LOVE FLORAL! It is one of those patterns that you can wear for 2 our of the 4 seasons, Spring and Summer. There’s also something about wearing floral that just makes you feel like you should be at a garden tea party.

This Friday I decided to pair this simple delicate white lace crochet top from Marshalls with a pink and blue ( complimentary colors) skirt that I found from Simons. With a pattern so bold you want to stay with a neutral or one block color top so the outfit is not overwhelming rather complimentary. I then added this outfit with nude pumps to keep the outfit clean and classy. AND Voilà!!!! You are ready for that tea party, start your week in style at the office or get that cute date.
